It is our communication with God.
As Christians we spend time either alone, with a friend, or with a group sharing our heart with God through prayer. It is meant for us to commune with Him bringing our thanks, requests for others in need, or maybe seeking guidance. Ultimately our prayers are to be in line with what God is doing. With that being said, First Baptist Church of Helena will be setting aside a day for prayer as we close out this year and head into a new one.
On December 30, 2017 we will have a day of prayer. Over 12 hours of that day, from 7 am to 7 pm, volunteers will come through in 15 minute blocks. 12 hours of praying for God’s will to be done in this community, in this church, and every life that He seeks to reach. I hope that we can go into the next year with a heart that is so focused on sharing the Gospel with others that our own lives are changed and we see changes in the lives of those we come in contact with. We cannot keep this precious gift to ourselves. We must share it with the community. There are people out there hurting, feeling lost and alone. There are people who feel hopeless. Jesus can bring them forgiveness, healing, meaning, and new life.
Let’s go into 2018 with a prayer for action. A prayer that God will use us in ways that we never imagined. That the message of Jesus’ love will be poured out in such a way that it will fill this land. Join us on this day, wherever you are, in praying for us. Praying for the movement of God in 2018.
